Episode 1 Summary

Amanda and Natalie introduce the show, the support hosts Annie and Stephanie, and the chat room moderators Natalie M and Malaika, as well as Mr. Montagne, the technical wizard. This broadcast is focused on next Tuesday's presidential election.

There is a live chatroom on the Ustream.tv site where listeners can ask questions and comment on the show as it is broadcast. There is a password to access the broadcast, and it may be periodically updated depending on our necessities. Also, just to clarify, broadcasts are only audio, although there is a picture slideshow playing simultaneously.

There will be 2 shows per month on Wednesdays, with each show lasting from about 45 minutes to an hour. A typical show will consist of a news roundup, an interview, school news, a music set with licensed music, an interactive poll, and a post show lasting for about 10 minutes after the regular show that is a bit less formal and light. You can subscribe to our broadcasts as a podcast through the iTunes link on the right hand side of this page.

If you have any particular ideas for the show, click on the link to the right labeled "Feedback and Story Ideas." Click this link to fill out a form if you have any creative ideas for upcoming episodes, news story suggestions, or suggesions for improving our show. We'd love to hear from you. You may also leave this information as a comment on one of the blog posts as well. If you would like to subscribe to blog posts, enter your email in the box on the top right hand corner of the blog.

We're broadcasting from our seperate houses by using Skype, a free computer-based client. The audio feed is then sent through the ustream.tv channel fory ou to listen too. From time to time, someone may be dropped from the Skype conversation or the show may go completely off the air. Please be patient as we try to perfect our use of the technology to create this live experience. All of this technology is relatively new to us, and we're still getting the hang of things.

Please keep irrelevent comments in the chat room to a minimum, as it makes it difficult for us to pull questions and comments productively. For a better broadcast, please be respectful, as inappropriate users will be booted from the chat.

Enter a design for the logo, due Wednesday, November 26 at midnight. No copyright images are allowed, and the design must be completely your own. Send us the logo as an attachment to casti.gator.radio@gmail.com. The winning design will be selected through a live vote during the first broadcast after Thanksgiving.
