Episode #3 Summary

Episode number 3 focued on social networking, beginning with a huge Facebook vs. Myspace debate that turned into a discussion about the pros and cons of both sites.

Our favorite new websites include:

  • Twitter.com- Statuses all in a feed
  • 12seconds.tv- 12 second video statuses (a video version of Twitter)
  • Revision3.com- Internet Tech TV
  • Visual Bookshelf- A Facebook application that allows people to review and rate recently read books
  • Failblog.org- Fails of all sorts! If you need cheering up, this is the place to go.
  • Google Video Chat- A video chat option straight out of Gmail.
  • Shelfari.com- Like Visual Bookshelf, except independent from Facebook and fancier.
  • Koolage.com- (Thanks, Kendall L!) A site where blogs optimal for iPhone and Smartphone use are designed.
  • Google Docs- Online document sharing, editing, storing, and collaborating
  • Etherpad.com- Like Google Docs, but a different site where we wrote our letter to Barack Obama.
