Episode #4 Preview

Episode #4 of the Gator Radio Experience will air live this coming Wednesday, December 3rd at 6:30 PM Pacific/9:30 PM Eastern. Click here to find out the date/time in your part of the world.

In this episode we'll be speaking with Brynn Thomas, who literally ran around the world with the "Blue Planet Run" foundation during the summer of 2007 to raise awareness about water quality issues. We'll also be joined by Rishi Raghunathan, who is a friend of Mr. Montagne's, to discuss the recent events in Mumbai, India. Rishi is an American of Indian descent and he will share his perspective on the Mumbai situation with our broadcast team.

We'll also feature a music set, an interactive chat room for our listeners to participate and ask questions, and a few listener polls. Remember, if you can't catch us live, all of our past episodes are posted on our blog and are available for downloading as podcasts. Gator Radio Experience Podcast #3

This episode focused on all things social media. We had a mini-debate on facebook vs myspace vs other spaces followed by an overview of some new social media spaces that we've found. Episode #3 Summary

Episode number 3 focued on social networking, beginning with a huge Facebook vs. Myspace debate that turned into a discussion about the pros and cons of both sites.

Our favorite new websites include:

  • Twitter.com- Statuses all in a feed
  • 12seconds.tv- 12 second video statuses (a video version of Twitter)
  • Revision3.com- Internet Tech TV
  • Visual Bookshelf- A Facebook application that allows people to review and rate recently read books
  • Failblog.org- Fails of all sorts! If you need cheering up, this is the place to go.
  • Google Video Chat- A video chat option straight out of Gmail.
  • Shelfari.com- Like Visual Bookshelf, except independent from Facebook and fancier.
  • Koolage.com- (Thanks, Kendall L!) A site where blogs optimal for iPhone and Smartphone use are designed.
  • Google Docs- Online document sharing, editing, storing, and collaborating
  • Etherpad.com- Like Google Docs, but a different site where we wrote our letter to Barack Obama.
  • Ustream.tv- What would we do without them? A site that lets you stream video and sound.

The House of Bernarda Alba opens this Friday at 7:30, Saturday at 7:30, and Sunday at 2:00.
The Pantomime is coming up on December 6.
Twilight opens this Friday. Will it be able to please all of its avid fans?

Stephanie reviewed the Madonna concert and the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

Our band of the episode was The Summer Set from Scottsdale, AZ. We played "Seasons," "Cross Your Fingers," and "Close to Me."

Show #3: Myspace Vs. Facebook and all things social media!

Gator Radio Experience Podcast #2

We had a fantastic show last night, with several guests joining in the conversation to talk about the excitement of the historic election day that we all just experienced. Early in the show we experienced a few technical glitches, but we appreciated everyone sticking with us until we could get the broadcast started.
